lyndsy and elon [orange]

01.24.08  |  engagements

I love this couple! ;)

Lyndsy and Elon are getting married in May... in fact, they're my first wedding back from my "maternity leave". I'm so excited that they chose me to capture their day. We had such a great time shooting their e-session, which we shot in Orange in an area I hadn't shot at before... FUN! Words to describe this couple... FUN, REAL, ADORABLE! And, they brought their dog, Waldo... he's just as cute as they are! Without further ado... here is a preview of some of my favorite images from our morning together... hope you love them... leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Isn't Lyndsy's dress cute?! ;) I love Anthropologie...

Rock stars... just playin' a little leg/air guitar...

A little chest bump action...

What a handsome couple...

Their impression of little old pregnant me... hahahaha... ;) Earlier in the session I had momentarily forgotten (how I don't know) that my belly is a bit bigger than normal and filled with a little guy and attempted to lay down on it, on the rocks, to get the shot... needless to say that didn't work out so well! ;) Still, I found a way to get it... thanks to laying on my side... some body contortions made possible by many years of yoga and dance... I've still got it... darn it! But, enough about me... back to this gorgeous couple.

The story on the one below... we found this sign on the side of the tracks after we'd been shooting on them for a while and thought (since it was upside down at the time) I wonder what the sign says... When we turned it over to find that it was a "don't cross the tracks" sign we thought they had to be little rebels... hence, the picture below and fun ensued!

rona, kile, and baby-to-be, Mason [pregnancy]

01.21.08  |  portraits

I had the great pleasure of photographing one of my yoga teachers and an amazing interior designer and owner of Grace Blu Designs, Rona, in her 8th month of pregnancy. Her husband Kile, two dogs- Lily and Buster, and her baby bump/little boy-to-be, Mason, joined us in our fun photo session.

Rona is incredible. She is so in shape, so beautiful, and so ready to be a mommy. Kile and the puppies were wonderful, too. They are all just waiting for little Mason to arrive. It's not too far off! Rona is almost exactly a month ahead of me... it's so fun to watch what's coming next. ;) I hope you enjoy the images. Thanks for welcoming me into your home and into this special time in your lives. I wish your expanding family all the best!

The puppies know who's in there... they're affectionate to Mason already... through Rona's tummy... and lots of licks and kisses!

A little "downward dog"... literally.

There's Mason... in the 4-d pic next to Rona. How cool is that?

I like the reflection in the picture frame.

krissy + jeremy [san juan capistrano]

01.07.08  |  weddings

ceremony: St. Timothy Catholic Church, Laguna Niguel
reception: El Adobe De Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano

coordinator: Lynn Doyle (of Susan McDonald Productions)
hair/makeup: Hair Comes the Bride
flowers: La Tulipe Floral Designs
cake: It's All About the Cake
dj: Larry of Rock N Ball DJ

Busy day... phew!!!

Krissy and Jeremy's wedding took place right before Christmas. I hadn't met Krissy or Jeremy prior to their wedding, which is not typical for me so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. They had been referred to me by my clients' ( Danielle and Rodney) father (thanks!!!). But... what a GREAT couple. So sweet, in love, appreciative... and what wonderful families, too. I had worked primarily with Craig (Krissy's father) in preparation for the big day and he was the best "planning dad" I've ever seen! You see, Krissy is in the military and is based up in Monterey. So, she was only down in socal for a little while.

Anyhoo, without further ado, here are some favorite images from Jeremy and Krissy's big day. A slideshow will be coming soon. Stay tuned!

I loved the light, shadows, and texture in this one.

What a beautiful bride...

Krissy isn't the only one in her family to serve her country. She comes from a long line of relatives who were a part of the US military. I thought this picture would mean a lot to Krissy with such an important day as her wedding symbolized along with the flags of our country. I hope you like it Krissy. ;)

A sweet moment with Krissy and her priest before the ceremony...

And one with Jeremy...

A stolen moment after the ceremony (I'm looking through the little window in the door)...

From the first dance... I think this is my favorite image from the day...

It's so cool at El Adobe... the ceiling opens up during the first dance to reveal the sky above the couple.

Bride and father...

A fun party... what would a reception be without some YMCA?

Krissy's parents...

And, the rings...

melanie and kris [huntington beach]

Woohoo... another very fun e-session! Melanie and Kris are two of the sweetest people that I've met and I think that comes out in their pics. They were referred to me by my clients, Jay and Christine, whose wedding I'll be shooting in June. I so appreciate my client referrals (thanks guys!)

These high school sweethearts and have been together for over 10 years. They get along so well and were super sweet and full of energy. I just loved their outfits, too. Color coordinated and a little funky... very fun! They'll be getting married in August at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church followed up by their reception at the Summit House in Fullerton.

Mel and Kris met me at my house and then we were off to a few different spots in HB. They wanted an urban/fun session... many wouldn't think of Huntington Beach for the urban part of that... but I swear you can find the coolest spots in an alley or parking garage. I hope you enjoy some favorites below, you two... there are more to come soon. ;)

So the one below... the nice people at the hair salon let us "use" their chair. We decided to briefly "borrow" it instead. I told Mel and Kris what our evil plan was, what to do, and on the count of three they grabbed the chair, ran into the street, sat down and we started shooting away. Then, before a traffic jam ensued, we politely placed the chair back and thanked the salon for letting us "use" the chair (and not calling the cops when we took it for just a minute). ;) It can be so fun to be a little bad! ;)

hilary and phil [laguna beach]

01.07.08  |  engagements

Hilary, Phil and I met up recently for their engagement session. They were referred to me by Wendy and Daniel, a fantastic couple who were married last year. Hilary and Phil are getting married next November in Denver, Colorado (fingers crossed that I get to shoot it!). These two were awesome... totally open to the random spots I found and a ton of fun to hang out with. Not to mention... they were troopers! It was super cold but they didn't complain at all. ;)

I hope you two enjoy this year of planning and, while you're at it, enjoy some of my favorites below, too! There's more to come... enjoy! (Can't wait to hear what you think...) ;)
