It's always a pleasure to photograph individuals doing what they love, what they are passionate about, and what they feel at home doing. Shooting this session was such a pleasure for many reasons (a few of which include how much I love these people). One of the reasons was the sheer beauty of the horse, such a graceful, strong, and thoughtful creature.

I think this session would likely fall into one of my "Passion Sessions" and I'd love to shoot more of them. Enjoy.

When people contact me to capture their family I really like to make sure that I'm the photographer they're looking for... not the smile at the camera, get you in-and-out, shoot and burn photographer (not that those are all the same type)... but instead, a photographer whose main objective is to authentically capture their family, to visually tell a chapter in its story, its quirks, its joys, its energy, and its beautiful connections. Once I'm sure that we've officially found each other I get so excited to work with them.

The Hong family wanted just that... nothing static or perfect and everything that felt just. like. them. I think we captured this great family in all their glory. ;)
