On this occasion, we included some extended family members grandma and grandpa... (who I believe are referred to as nana and papa... sorry if I'm mistaken ;)... ) as well as Ann's sister and her husband. Without doing only the perfunctory standard portrait shots (which we did some of, as well) I wanted to do something that was a little more unique... I like the way this one turned out. The "Family Tree"... get it? ;)

Look at the determination...

And, what a lovely lady Julia is becoming...

Some of that trademark Julia and Andrew sweetness...

And, I promised them that they would get to do something more fun at the end... so... they got to JUMP!!!!... a couple of times... always followed by... can we see that one? How about that one? Of course, I obliged... ;)

One more jump for the road...

And, a farewell shot to this beautiful family.

BRIDES Magazine and the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) teamed up together for the second year in a row for a wedding photojournalism competition. Judged by four pulitzer prize winning photojournalists and the editorial department of Bride's Magazine, the contest's first place winning images from each of the ten categories were just published in a six-page spread in the November/December 2008 issue of BRIDES Magazine.
I was fortunate to win 1st place in last year's wedding party category with the first image below. This year, while I didn't win 1st place, I did win 4th place in the send off/departure category. Woohoo!!! A big thanks to Nicole and Tommy whose jubilant farewell from [seven-degrees] in Laguna Beach can be seen in the second image below. A big congrats to all of the winners in this competition! The winners can be viewed on WPJA's website and on Bride's website.

Grace and John were married a little while back at the Wilshire United Methodist Church (what a pretty church) and held their reception at the incredible Cicada... I LOVE this venue! I honestly had too many favorites from this one... you wouldn't believe that I actually filtered a TON out. I seriously am going to start only showing about 15-20 images from my weddings... I swear!!! It's supposed to be a preview afterall!!! Anyways...
Grace and John are phenomenal together... both are super sweet and wonderfully funny, too. The energy was so vibrant and fun at this wedding the entire day. Grace and John- I wish you two love, health and happiness... you truly make a beautiful couple. Now, on with the show... I hope you love your pics! ;) xoxo- Nat

Grace's dress was stunning... completely custom made for her... the designer even tied the sash for her on her wedding day. I've never seen that before... pretty cool. ;)

And, John's not so bad either...wink, wink...

There is the most amazing hallway/light in this one area of the church... I saw it and whisked Grace out of the dressing room for a little bridal session...

We headed over to LACMA prior to the reception to capture the married couple...

We got this one before we were kindly asked by the security guard to get off the stairs... shoot!!!

They did a great job on their first dance...

Grace's sister's toast...

Another toast... a GREAT one might I add...

Now, I'm not a big fan of doing "table shots" but this one is AWESOME!

This was my favorite part of the evening... John thought he was getting the garter from Grace...

Dancing ensued... EVERYONE danced... AWESOME!

And, finally... the rings... congrats again, you two!

The lovely Kelly and Ben were married at Rancho Capistrano on a beautiful August day. Well, actually it was a bit cloudy at first... but, lo and behold, right as Kelly and Ben walked down the aisle after tying the knot the sun broke through the clouds. Beautiful.
It was a beautiful wedding with lots of great details and even more love and fun. Congratulations Kelly and Ben! I hope you enjoy many of my favorites below!

This necklace and charm were very special to Kelly.

Ben spun her around before the kiss...

Off they went on a cute vespa...

But before I leave you... we must end with the rings...

A few rare pics of Momma and E... (I'm always behind the camera... thanks for taking these, Matt!)

Some of E and Daddy... first, a zirbit...

And, finally... a self portrait of the fam (if you didn't notice we were now seconds away from Ethan's nap... sleepy eyes and non-interest in those pleasantly plump orange veggies...)
