Rain or shine... the Castagnolas and I were going to make this session a success... and have fun doing it! I've shot their engagement, wedding, pregnancy, newborn, and all three years of their family since their little lady was born. I am blessed by them.

PS- I do wish I had a picture of me shooting this session... hilarity would ensue. HAHAHA!! (Think hands free umbrella... aka umbrella stuffed through my shirt and through my bra. Classic. At NMP, we make it happen... darn it.

When Jason called me to do a photo shoot with his family I didn't know what to expect. His family turned out to be of the four legged variety. That part of this session, with Jason and his "girls", will be shared in a future post. This post is more downward dog related. During our conversation about his session, Jason mentioned that, in addition to doing portraits with his dogs, he would like to do some pictures while practicing some asanas. Little did he know that this was so in line with my own interests (I love to practice yoga) and with my Passion Portrait Sessions. So, of course, I agreed to a two-part session; family came first and yoga came second.

Jason shared that yoga has truly been a key in changing his life, the lives of others (whom he shares his practice with), his body, spirit, and mind. In addition, he is about half way through his yoga teacher certification.

We found a nice spot amidst the Autumn leaves, set down his mat, and he practiced and flowed for about 30 minutes. I was there to capture that. The hardest part was not getting my mat out and joining in the practice.

Thank you for letting me share in your practice, Jason. I'm looking forward to doing more Passion Portrait Sessions centered around the arts and yoga. I'd love to hear from you if you would like to share your passion with me so I can document it for you.

I'm working on this session right now and... well, not only do I love this family (and former wedding clients), but it was just a joy to be in their house. Love their spunky minimalist style.

There's something special about a man and his dogs. Jason and his girls shared an awesome connection. Beautiful morning light + clean morning air after a rain + a really nice guy + his really well behaved and sweet dogs = LOVE.
