I've had the genuine pleasure of photographing Erin Cole Couture's editorial and advertising campaigns and so enjoy working with the Erin Cole team and their beautiful products. So, when Karin, CFO of Erin Cole Couture, asked me about photographing her wedding with Danielle, I was ecstatic.

Karin and Danielle are some of the most wonderful (and funny) women that I've met... and their love is such a joy to capture. I'm so excited and honored to photograph their wedding in May.

We had so much fun spending time at the beach (where Karin spends a lot of her time surfing) creating these engagement and family portraits. That's right family portraits, too! The boys joined us for part of this shoot and were pure sweetness and humor. I think you'd agree that this family is so lovely-- just beaming love and togetherness.

Some jumbled thoughts...

Sometimes it's the little things... the way her hair curls just so, how her freckles keep popping up (When did that happen exactly?), how her long lashes are just so perfect on her little face.

Creating a picture, capturing those little physical things, right now, before they change (... oh wait they already have...) is like meditating with my eyes and soul open.

I think it's not necessarily the "perfect" smile-at-the-camera pictures that will become special to us (though they are special in their own right) but those pictures that celebrate the details, the relationships, the personalities; a flashing image that will make our heart skip a beat and our mind journey back to a moment in time that somehow escapes us as the years pass, but that still exists in our memory and soul.

A mental imprint of her at five years old... she'll only be a little person for a little while after all. ;)
