So, I'm happy to announce that the Wedding Photojournalist Association (the WPJA) has released their year end 2007 contest winners... and... one of my images placed! ;) Yayyyy!!!!!

This is really cool (to me ;)) because the judges were none other than the world-class photographers from VII agency.

Without further ado... here is the image from Kristin and Jeremy's wedding back in December... It won 5th place in the "Reflections" category.

While I love to take pictures of my son there's something to be said for having a professional photographer (outside of his immediate family) come and take some pictures. That's why I asked the lovely and very talented Amy Squires to come up to our neck of the woods to take some newborn and family shots of us (since Matt and I haven't been in the same picture together with "e" since he was born). It was so nice to be able to relax and experience being a mom and a family and watching your son have his pictures taken. I'm so glad we did it.

This is such an important time and I would hate to have missed these moments and memories. But, enough of the mushy stuff... on to some great pics...

So... this is kind of backwards since the post before this one is our beautiful baby that was in the "bump" in these pics but I had to blog them and give a shout out to the man that photographed them... Nate Kaiser of the Image is Found.

As you can imagine, I'm used to being on the other side of the camera so it's kind of weird to be photographed (now I know how my clients feel!) and it's super hard for a photographer to pick who they want to photograph them! But, Nate totally delivered (no pun intended)... And, Matt and I had a really great time during our session. Little "e" popped out about 2 weeks and 3 days after these shots were taken... I think you'll really like the last one (a little homage to my yoga roots... fun fact... this was my last handstand before the little guy popped out... the last yoga class was 2 days prior... I swear... girls... do yoga... I really think it does help in the delivery room!)!
